Sunset Magazine: Christmas Covers
Sunset Magazine is a lifestyle publication that has been around since 1898, covering a wide range of topics including home and garden advice, travel, and food. Since its inception, the magazine has been known for its beautiful photography and illustrations, as well as its informative articles on a variety of subjects.
During the holiday season, Sunset Magazine has always featured special Christmas covers on its December issues. In the 1920s, 1930s, and 1950s, these covers were particularly charming, with illustrations that captured the spirit of the season. The 1920’s and 30’s tended to feature more artistic and whimsical covers, whereas the 1940’s and 1950’s were typically actual homes with Christmas tree displays, or seasonal flowers/ plants.
In addition to the beautiful covers, the December issues of Sunset Magazine from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1950s also included a range of holiday-themed articles and features. These might include gift guides, recipes for festive meals and treats, and ideas for decorating the home for the holiday season.
