In the 1930s, summer vacations were not as common as they are today. Many Americans did not have the time or financial means to take extended vacations, as the country was still in the midst of the Great Depression. However, for those who were able to take a summer vacation, popular destinations included beaches, national parks, and resorts. Many people also took day trips or weekend getaways to nearby attractions. Camping and road trips also became increasingly popular during this time.
